In fact, it seems
that the problem with Android tablets does not depend on assumption that all of them are extremely bad, low quality devices. If one takes some time to review the products more thoroughly he or she will realize that they just do not come up to consumers and market analysts’ expectations. General consumers would like to have a tablet which would have front and rear facing cameras of significant resolution, a powerful processor, lots of memory installed, no restrictions like those of Apple, a multitude of apps available at the online store and 10 hour replaceable battery to support all of that. What’s more, they want all that at a prize lower than that asked for the iPad. It is quite clear they want too much. At the same time market watchers who are more interested not in gadgets themselves but in the impact they have at the stock market quotes seem disappointed at the consumers’ behavior which is more indifferent than it was expected. Several hot gadgets released to the market before Christmas would ensure a strong session of highly productive activities at exchanges all over the world and splendid possibilities to make even more money.
So, the major problem of Android tablets is that they are just second and have quite a strong rival to compete. If they had been delivered to the market prior to the iPad, somewhere at the end of last year, no doubt, they would have reaped enormous profits. But everybody who is more or less familiar with the topic realizes how improbable it was for the Android’s Éclair to support all the functionalities provided by a regular tablet. At the same time Android developers do not produce fewer or worse apps than their iPad counterparts. The problem lies in the span of time they possess. Apple launched its online app repository several years ago, while Google took a completely different approach which provides other benefits and profits.
So, it’s more
than probable that the situation at the tablet market will painfully resemble that of a smartphone one. Most market analysts when evaluating market shares will have to say about the iPad (and the iPad-mini if rumors are true and Apple is going to release one)
Say about the iPad
and a range of Android tablets created by different manufacturers. Just one fact aggravates the situation and leaves some hope for consumers.
According to Google
representatives, the very Android tablet will be released only after Honeycomb iteration is launched. So, everybody is welcomed to wait for another half a year in a desperate hope to see what will come of that.
